if i die young.

Well, two days ago I celebrated my first birthday away from home.  My family has never been very big on celebrating birthdays so I wasn't really worried about missing anything.  But the one tradition my mom has always kept is waking me up at six in the morning to wish me happy birthday and tell me how much she loves me (because it was 6:00 in Florida when I was born in Sweden).

Anyways, on my birthday, at six a.m., I woke up to Emily jumping on my bed, wishing me happy birthday.  She had driven all the way down from Aspen Grove to take me to breakfast!  Isn't she the best?  I seriously LOVE her.  So I was just telling her how funny it was that she came at six right when my mom called me to tell me happy birthday at precisely 6:05 a.m.  Thanks, Mom, for keeping the tradition alive.  And thanks also to Marissa & Karen for waking up at such a ridiculous hour to come with me to breakfast.

Actually, I would like to give a special shout out to Marissa Lang for being my friend, taking me shopping, teaching me the Hannah Montana dance, and treating me like a princess on my birthday.

I had a a great first "independent" birthday with my friends and a special thanks to all my friends and family who called me from all over the world to wish me happy birthday and sent me birthday cards and packages.  I less than three all of you!  <3

bedridden.

Currently on my mind:

Umcka: The best medicine out there.  Not only does it taste good (yes, I am seven years old) but it also works like a charm!  And I'm sick so I could really use some of this right now.  Except I can't actually get myself out the door to buy it.

Harry Potter: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) comes out on July 15th, 2011...IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH.  Midnight showing, here I come!

Joshua+Radin.jpg

Joshua Radin: I love basically every song I've ever heard by this guy.  And I think I have a crush on him...

Isabel: I absolutely LOVE this little girl.  And I cannot wait to go to Georgia for her first birthday in August!

Spain: Well, Spain is always on my mind but right now it's mainly this beautiful girl Fabiola.  I miss her so much and I'm so glad I got to talk to her today!

These Songs:
If I Die Young - The Band Perry
Follow Through - Gavin DeGraw
More Than Anyone - Gavin DeGraw
You Got Growing Up to Do - Joshua Radin
Chasing Pavements - Adele
Hold On - Michael Buble

spring term has officially been sucker-punched.

I WIN.  I just finished my last Spring final today and I can now say that Spring Term 2011 has officially been dominated by none other than yours truly.

For those of you who don't know (I've been trying keep it a secret) I had to retake Econ 110 this term.  I was not at all excited to retake it but it had to be done for me to have a chance at getting into the Business School (please, please, please, please accept me!)
Anyway, I took my final yesterday, and with some divine intervention... I killed it!  I seriously was so happy, I don't think you even understand!  For two semesters, that class has made me cry, lose sleep, pushed me to my breaking point, caused me to throw things, hit things (sometimes people...), wish death upon my TA's, and scream in frustration.  But it has finally been dominated by moi!  What.  A.  Relief.

It's kind of weird to go about my daily life without the constant worrying and drawing supply and demand curves with my hair in the shower or with my hands on the way to school.  But it feels soooo good to defeat that class and accomplish my goal.  I am so grateful for all the prayers said for me by friends and family and for my Heavenly Father who loves me SO much to understand how important this was to me.

And let me tell you, yesterday was such a beautiful day.  The blessings just kept on coming, one right after another.  I won't go into detail, but Heavenly Father knows me and loves me and understands what's important to me and for that I am so so so so thankful!

Loving life right now  =)

back from the dead.

Oh heyyy.

So I've decided to try my hand at this blogging business again.  I was pretty good at it when I was in SPAIN, but that's mostly because my life was a lot more interesting then.

But this week, my life just got a bit interesting again.  It's my finals week and this week I'm nannying for three adorable little boys who I already love.

Here are a few of the phrases I've heard most over the past few days:
"But mommy says..." or "Mommy lets me..."
"Bang, you're dead!"
"Nooooo!!!!!"
"But I want..."

According to Truman, I am a master paper-airplane maker.  In fact, my paper airplane is so good that he doesn't want to take it outside for fear that he will lose it when it flies itself into the neighbor's yard.

Confession: I am loving playing mommy.  I love the goodnight hugs and kisses, the early morning wake-up calls, and the constant begging to play army men and guns.  And I love the counting down to play hide and seek...."Nine, two, one, ready or not here I come!"

Less than three.
